Hello all. I know this site hasn't been updated too often, and I apologize for that. We have been in the works with the people who manage the main band page (www.rpbands.org) to link our website to their website. Mr. Olian (assistant band director) has been working with several band parents to update the main band page, and we are going to be linking up with them, having our own space on their site! During this transition, not much will be happening on this site. Keep checking the main page for schedules, events and whatnot. We hope to be up and running on the new site around Christmas time. Until then, if you have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, please email us at rpbandalumni@gmail.com

ATTENTION - SEE THE BAND PERFORM THIS SATURDAY, FREE OF CHARGE!

The marching band is performing their show for the public one last time before they go to Nationals in Indianapolis next week. Details for the performance are as follows:

Where: RP Football stadium
When: Saturday, 11-10-07 at 5:30
Cost to enter: FREE

Let's turn out and support out Rocket marching band. They have had an amazing season so far, and they are expecting even better things for next week!

Congratulations to the RP marching band for their win yesterday at the state finals. This is the first time in Reeths-Puffer marching band history that the RP band has won state three years in a row! Along with another state championship title, the marching band took all caption awards, and a 3 point lead on Walled Lake, their closest competition. Top three scores are as follows:

3rd place - Jenison with a 85.90
2nd place - Walled Lake with a 86.10
1st place - Reeths-Puffer with a 89.10

Now the band prepares for their trip to Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. Way to go band!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RPHS MARCHING BAND - They received a score last night of 81.6 - nearly two points higher than Jenison.

Alumni Homecoming Cookout!

Hello Alumni! Here are the details for the cookout...please also check your email for more details.

3:30-5:30 - The marching band rehearses and anyone interested may show up and watch part or all of rehearsal.

4:30-7:00 - Registration/Checkin table in the rehearsal room (fine arts wing of the high school), past band videos will be playing, and refreshments will be served.

5:00-6:00 - Chicken BBQ. Tickets are $10. Anyone interested may purchase tickets from any current band student, from me (email rpbandalumni@gmail.com) or at the gate. PLEASE NOTE - money from any tickets purchased before September 29th (the cookout) goes straight to the band program. Funds from tickets purchased at the gate are split between several organizations.

6:00-6:30 - The alumni band will meet in the band room and run through the music several times over (if you are interested in performing, please email ASAP to rpbandalumni@gmail.com We need to know by September 15th so we can mail out music ahead of time for you all to look at. Music stands will be provided that night if you do not have the music memorized. If you are interested, email me your name, instrument and grad year. If you need an instrument, reed, etc, please just let me know and they will be provided that night. Drum line and colorguard are invited to participate as well. Anyone participating in the alumni band will get into the football game for free.

6:30-7:00 - Music runthrough, and joining up with the marching band. We will perform the National Anthem and the fight song with the marching band, and then proceed into the game. The rest of the night is yours. We encourage you to stay and support the marching band as they perform during half time.

Attention anyone interested...just a reminder that Saturday is BAND CAMP SATURDAY! We would like anyone able to come and support the marching band.

ATTENTION ANYONE INTERESTED IN PERFORMING IN THE ALUMNI BAND AT THE HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME!!!

If you used a school instrument (baritone, tuba, etc...) and you still wish to perform in the alumni band at homecoming, please email an RSVP to rpbandalumni@gmail.com as soon as you can. I spoke with Mr. Hodson today, and with enough notice, he should be able to get ahold of any instruments that we will need. Thanks for your quick response.

Hello fellow alums! Welcome to your official website. We are really glad that you have decided to join this awesome organization. Through this association we hope to make contact with as many past R-P band grads as we can, have get-togethers to re-connect with old friends, establish an alumni band for anyone interested, and eventually establish an alumni fund for the students currently in marching band. The RPBAA is going to be an amazing thing, and we couldn't do it without you. Thanks for taking the time to stop by the website, and keep in touch.
